English and American Studies / Anglistik und Amerikanistik (Kombinationsbachelor)

The University of Cuneo’s Kombinationsbachelor in English and American Studies is a unique and innovative program that combines the study of English and American literature, culture, and society with the methodologies of linguistics, literary theory, and cultural studies. This interdisciplinary program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the English-speaking world and its cultural, historical, and linguistic contexts.

Program Structure

The Kombinationsbachelor program consists of a total of 180 credits, divided into six semesters. Students will take a combination of core and elective courses in English and American Studies, as well as courses in linguistics, literary theory, and cultural studies.

Course Content

In the first two semesters, students will take core courses in English and American Studies, including:

  • Introduction to English and American Literature
  • Language and Culture
  • American Literature and Society
  • British Literature and Culture

In the third and fourth semesters, students will take elective courses in their areas of interest, such as:

  • Literary Theory and Criticism
  • Language and Linguistics
  • American Cultural Studies
  • British Cultural Studies
  • Film and Television Studies

In the final two semesters, students will work on a thesis project under the supervision of a faculty member.

Language Requirements

All courses are taught in English, but students are also required to take courses in Italian language and culture.
